John, Keith, Steve, et al,
Today's Official Journal of the European Union
     http://europa.eu.int/eur-lex/en/dat/2003/c_172/
     c_17220030722en00020015.pdf (all one URL)
published a new list of harmonized standards for the EMC Directive.

The effective date for EN 55022:1998 and its Amendment A1:2000 has been
shoved back to August 1, 2005. They were scheduled to kick in August 1,
2003. These are the standards that required:
* Conducted emissions testing to be done on ports that connect to a
phone line or a local area network (LAN).
* Radiated emissions testing to be done with absorbing clamps on the AC
   line cords.

There is also a new amendment to EN 55022:1998, A2:2003, and a new
amendment to EN 55024:1998, A2:2003, which take effect December 1, 2005.
I just checked the web sites of some companies that sell EMC standards,
and these don't seem to be available just yet.

I will let you know what effects they may have on CE Marking of
information technology equipment (ITE) when I get copies. (If any of
you run across a company that has them, please let me know.)

Thanks!
