Surely the significant parameters for safety are total power, intensity, and spectrum, and not the underlying technology of the source. There are safe lasers and dangerous LEDs (and dangerous incandescent lamps, for that matter). Can someone, uhh, enlighten me about the reasoning behind the standards? LED's were introduced several years ago with much debate within TC76, and the two light sources are now used interchangeably within this standard. John A.
