Hi Charlie,

To my knowledge, none of the standards you listed are mandatory in Uruguay at
this time. There is no compulsory product certification for ITE, and no
national mark is required. Uruguay has no national testing agencies, so they
rely on testing done by foreign agencies. If your product is compliant with
applicable FCC regs (or CE regs) and carries an NRTL or other agency
certification mark, you should have no problems clearing customs and placing
the equipment into service.

If your device is a wireless network device, you will need to apply for a
one-time categoric exemption to:

Dirección Nacional de Comunicaciones

Boulevard Artigas, 1520

Casilla de Correo 927

Montevideo 11600, Uruguay

The application should include a letter explaining the product's compliance
with applicable FCC or ETSI regs. A copy of test reports, certificates, FCC
grants, etc., will help speed processing of the application. You must have a
local representative. Generally all products using the same frequency band and
technology (such as 802.11 access points and terminals) are included in each
exemption granted.

There is a good article on WI-FI approvals in Latin America in the Compliance
Engineering archives:

  http://www.ce-mag.com/ARG/Eroglu.html

Hope this helps.
