Peter, I don't know much about Medical, but I have heard from some of our major customers that PVC use needs to be reduced because of chemicals covered under WEEE.

If so, what are they called, and can there be exceptions to these rules. >From my understanding, there are only informal ones that medical device manufacturers should adhere to for example when selling in Europe. The insulating shrink material used on Nickel Metal Hydride batteries consists of PVC. Almost all battery suppliers use the same shrink material sold in many parts of the world.
