I've been trying to be ascertain the scope of certain
standards to establish applicability to a product.
IEC/CENELEC standards' abstracts are (generally) relatively
easy to get at the IEC web store; ISO is spotty, but
standards' scopes are often available and there's at least a
place holder on the search results page.
CEN standards: forget it. You might as well have an ale;
you'll get the same amount if useful information on the
topic and have a better chance of walking away with a smile.
I've tried the CEN web site, BSI, NSSN (ANSI's web store),
IHS (Global Engineering Documents), Techstreet, whcich at
most only repeat the standard's title in the abstract.
Perhaps I'm overlooking an obvious source. Ideas anyone?

Peter L. Tarver, PE
