Good quick and dirty solution. But, I believe that the raw test data, not image data, should be archived. Image file data is "volatile" and frequently is not portable across different versions, platforms, etc. It is difficult to beat the simplicity and reliability of an ASCII text file, in engineering units, with a CRC appended. luck, Brian Brian: The HP-85869 software doesn't allow you to get at the "raw" data! Many times, I would have liked to print out a data sheet with columns of frequency, raw data, cal factor, cal loss, probe factor, corrected amplitude, limit value and dB over/under. The last revision of the 85869 added access to a subroutine that lets you archive ALL the peak freq/level pairs to disk, but this is a disconcerting thing to do (you need to PAUSE the 85869 program, type in a command in the command line, execute it, and then CONTINUE the 85869 flow). If you mess up, you lose the data acquisition run, don't collect $200, and go directly to the Santa Rosa jail. <g> BTW, there are several graphics converters and viewers that have HPGL (or HPCL) reading ability. Unfortunately, every one I tried has one or more strong negative aspects when trying to convert an HGL to a JPG or BMP. The MS Word patch is the best solution that I found.
