Hi Group, This is a very interesting subject from Robert. I am particluarly interested in Bluetooth applications in the office/shop/store environment. Has anyone done a study of quality of Bluetooth communication in these environments?

I am curious about how they interact with typical environmental materials like walls, earth, furniture, plumbing, wiring, foliage, etc. What materials are transparent, reflective, attenuating? Is attenuation related mostly to water content? I have a good feel for these characteristics with regard to light, sound and TV, but I'm unfamiliar with GHertz frequencies. For example, TV/FM is very sensitive to reflections from nearby wiring and people and reacts strongly to movements of a few inches. I would expect WiFi to be similarly sensitive to small metal surfaces like nearby office furniture or appliances rather than wires and to very small movements.
