About the presentation: Ethernet Design for EMC The ethernet ports of many systems often have EMI present. Even with the filtering built into some of the parts and the differential signals that are supposed to cancel, there can still be enough EMI to cause failures in test. This is a few design techniques developed at IBM and Cisco to expedite ethernet development to pass EMC. It covers 10/100/1000 over Unshielded Twisted Pair - UTP About the speaker: Bill Owsley, NCE, has been involved with EMC for over 20 years. He developed his EMC expertise at IBM where he worked with the personal computer division developing everything from adapter cards, printers, high volume PC's, to high powered Servers. During this time he worked with IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center developing EMC design rules to expedite development of products.
