The voltage rating on "most" circuit breakers is a nominal voltage rating. If
the breaker is tested to an EN or IEC standard such as IEC60947-2 then all the
testing is performed at a minimum of 105% of rated voltage.
UL1077 and UL489 require testing at the rated voltage of the device. Based on
circuit breaker design there should be no problem using these breakers on any
typical voltage system where the nominal voltage of the system and the nominal
voltage of the breaker are the same or where the nominal voltage of the
breaker is higher. Using a 250 V breaker at 120 V is no problem.
Circuit breakers in general are not voltage sensitive devices, with the
obvious exception of shunt trip voltage coils. If you need further info, feel
