Aha! The old CE+CE=CE debate. There are going to be many differing opinions on
this, but I believe, and I am not necessarily an expert in this, that legally
if each part of the system is compliant seperately, the integrated product
does not need to be tested. Whether or not in practice the integrated system
is in fact compliant is a matter of debate. I have tested systems where each
part of the system is Class B, yet when they are put together, the system
barely made Class A. As a matter of practice we always do a system level test.
I would be interested to hear what people more knowledgable than myself have
to say on this issue.

Dear Friends,
Being a product safety guy, I need some assistance from the EMC guru's.
If a mfg. bundles several complete products as a system and each piece is CE
certified (each with Declaration for EMC), are there any legal requirement
under the EMC Directive to have the complete system submitted and tested for
EMC (with or without a declaration for the system)?
Example: Company X bundles a Dell PC, Microsoft keyboard/mouse, Samtron
Monitor, HP Scanner, etc.... does Company X have to have the system EMC tested
to sell in EU. If they wanted to declare the system, is there anything
preventing them from doing so if not tested?
