group, for GR- 474, is it the same criteria for blinking vs. solid LED status? I know the guidleines for color of LED's status but an internal quesiton came up about blinking? I am not sure how the gr-474 handles blinking, or temporary states of function... thank you, Richard. After the introduction of solid state lasers, it was apparent that the similarities in manufacturing/operation of these devices closely matched those of LED's already on the market. I sat on the US TAG TC-76 in a former life, and the inclusion of these devices at the time created much debate (still does). It is this standard, current version I believe is 60825-1 Edition 1.2, that manufacturers of LED's should state compliance. Annex "G" of this standard specifically provides a listing of the radiometric specification of Light Emitting Diodes, including Infrared devices needed to show compliance if the device is not inherently Class 1. The provisions of these specifications by manufacturers of LED's would be of great use to those of us who incorporate such devices into our end products. --- Some of the essential data recommended in Annex G includes --- Peak wavelength, in nanometers Divergence, half intensity angles Apparent source size or angular subtense Location of apparent source from a stated reference surface Radiant intensity min - max, etc. Regards, John A. I raise this question because panel light LED's are having a very high brightness nowadays.
