The Los Angeles building dpartment maintains quite a lengthy list of labs they will accept listed equipment from. Those mentioned already plus Intertek, CSA, FM, etc. Los Angeles even accepts listings from their own city laboratory for equipment that is not listed by anyone else, and their city lab is not an NRTL. I can't seem to find the URL for their web site, but it's worth a look. Maybe someone else can post the URL.
