Rochester Joint Chapter IEEE EMC and Product Safety Engineering Societies
You are receiving this email because you are a member of one of these IEEE societies, or are known to have an interest in EMC and/or product safety engineering. If you do not wish to receive future emails of this nature, let me know in a reply to this email. INITIAL ORGANIZING AND KICK-OFF MEETING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2004 at 6:00 PM IN THE MEETING ROOM AT THE ROCHESTER ENGINEERS' CENTER 1806 LYELL AVENUE, ROCHESTER. The new EMC and Product Safety Societies Joint Chapter will hold an inaugural organization and brainstorming meeting on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Discussion will focus on planning meetings for the coming year, and on selecting a slate of officer candidates for 2005. As a joint chapter, there are the resources of two IEEE societies to call upon. At the same time, we want to offer technical topics of interest to members of each society. Engineers who are not members of the EMC or Product Safety societies may also find the future meetings of interest because electromagnetic compatibility and product safety impact virtually all products, both hardware and software. We should keep this in mind in planning meetings. Members should consider what topics are of special or current interest to them, what areas might be covered in mini-tutorials or workshops, and come prepared to make suggestions. If you, or a colleague, would like to give a future talk or presentation, please let us know. Non-commercial vendor presentations of new technology or tutorials on product use, such as shielding, measurement, and testing, are also solicited as ideas. If you have ideas on meetings, but cannot attend this meeting, please send me an email with your ideas. We can discuss them at this meeting if you get them in early enough. The meeting will be from 6 to 8 PM in the conference room at the Rochester Engineers' Center (a.k.a. Rochester Engineering Society), 1806 Lyell Avenue. The RES is behind Rochester Colonial Manufacturing. Take the driveway between Rochester Colonial and the Dance Studio, and go to the end. The entrance to the conference room is around the back of the RES building - look for the outside stairs. You can find a map and directions at: http://www.roceng.org/map.html Refreshments and pizza or other edibles will be provided. So that I know how much to order, please RSVP to [email protected] to let me know if you'll be attending. You can also email me with any questions, comments, or offers of participation. I hope to see you at the meeting. Jack Jacob Schanker Acting Chapter Chair Chair, Rochester Section IEEE This message is from the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society emc-pstc discussion list.
