There is a separate safety standard for warts with mains-frequency output, so it's perhaps possible to apply that standard. But there is no such standard at present for warts with d.c. output. Furthermore, a wart and ward sold together form a 'system' under the EMC Directive and must be tested together, because one CE mark applies to the system as a whole. See the Directive and 6.4.2.1 of the Guidelines. I have to say that this latter point has very recently come as a surprise to some people and may be challenged, but I doubt that a challenge would be successful, at least until the new Directive comes into effect, and we don't even have a final version yet. -- Regards, John Woodgate, OOO - Own Opinions Only.
