Hello all, I have a question regarding connectors used for interconnection purpose in an ITE. This connector is a cylindrical multipoint connectors, with 230 (ac - 2P+E), 24 (dc) and 12 (dc) inside (7 points) and is IP67 rated. I understand, reading the table 2L of 60950, that if it’s IP67, this is equivalent to Pollution degree1, and no creepage is required. However, clearances are still required. In my case, these clearances are not compliant with 60950 requirement between pins and body of connector. I’ve seen that this connector is compliant with IEC61984 requirements. This standard apply to “connectors with rated voltages above 50 V and up to 1 000 V and rated currents up to 125 A per contact, for which either no detail specification (DS) exists or the DS calls up this standard for safety aspects.” I don’t have copy of this standard, but I can imagine that the creepage and clearance have been dimensioned correctly on the connector. This standard is not listed in the 60950. Do you believe I can use a 61984 compliant connector in an ITE product, for interconnection purpose, even if it doesn’t meet the 60950 requirements ?
