Hello Tom. Standard ETS 300 683:1997 is still on the list of harmonised standards on last but one position. But earlier on the list it is stated that standard EN 301 489-03 V1.3.1 superseded ETS 300 683:1997 from 31.10.2003. Standard EN 301 489-03 V1.4.1 will be mandatory from 30.11.2005. So it is not clear that standard ETS 300 683:1997 is not applicable. But I can be wrong because I'm not an expert in RTTE Directive.
