Dear all, For the propagation path loss (PL) equation: PL(dB)= 32.4 + 20 log (Freq) + 20 log (D) , so the PL is proportional to the frequency and distance. For another equation for determining the electricl field strength: E(V/m) = (Sqrt(30x ERP))/D, in this equation, the field strength only related to the distance, but not the freqeuncy. My questions are : 1. Why the second equation does not related to the frequency? 2. Can the second equation apply to a very long distance ( i.e. 100km or 1000km), because I have seen some examples about they just used to calculate i.e. 3 or 10 meters. Regards, Derek
