Job Description:
Participates on a project team of design and test
engineers involved in the product safety
specification, design, development, and test of SELV
and TNV hardware, it may include any of the following
responsibilities:  Collaboration in defining the
design, implementation processes, and product
evaluation procedures.  Participate on a project team
of engineers involved in the product design, planning,
testing, and approval for company’s products world
wide. Understand and interpret safety worldwide
requirements, testing, and approvals effectively.
Candidate must be able to independently participate in
the design, schedule, budget and running of major
safety projects. Interact with cross-functional
engineers, regulatory agency agents, and customers to
coordinate resolution of product design, test, and
approval issues. Provide mentoring to support junior
engineers on staff, effectively manage multiple
projects and priorities, interface effectively with
cross-functional design groups, and resolve issues
independently. Develop general process guidelines and
implement quality systems for departmental use. 
Manage department HW equipment inventory, approval
test plan, test report, and certificate database.

Education:
Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 5-7 years of
related experience, or  BSEE/CS combined with 7-10+
yrs related experience.

Skills required:
Direct knowledge of EN60950, UL60950, and CSA 60950
with a track record of successful product submittals
is required.  The candidate should have experience and
understanding of the European CB scheme with a solid
track record of successfully submitting and obtaining
CB certificates.  Knowledge of domestic and
international product safety standard and how the
requirement apply to TNV circuits and interface
front-end protection. Experience with all compliance
safety test equipments; like hi-pot, leakage, surge,
and OV equipments.  The candidate must have working
knowledge of safety test and approval process.
Experience with design of LAN and WAN interfaces are a
must. Good project management skills. Translates
department strategies, directions, and goals into own
work assignments. Independently determines and
develops approach to solutions. Understand competitive
products. Interfaces cross-functionally at the working
team level. The candidate must have excellent written
and verbal communication skills, possesses excellent
analytical skills. Sponsors and models exemplary team
interaction with the ability to mentor.  Encourages
and accepts performance feedback. Demonstrate ability
to successfully influence win-win cross-functional
dynamics.  Resolves team conflicts by fostering team
communications. Demonstrate leadership and focus on
customer success.
