In USA, IEEE 519 seems to provide as much control as is considered necessary. The situation in Canada is different, and puzzling. Hydro Quebec experts are deeply involved in the work of IEC SC77AWG1 (including a major contribution to IEC 61000-4-7), and press strongly for limitations on harmonic current emissions, even though IEC 61000-3-2 applies only to 50 Hz systems. -- Regards, John Woodgate, OOO - Own Opinions Only.
