IEC standards do not have any 'deadline dates'. They are standards
RECOMMENDED to the National Committees of the IEC for adoption as
national standards. The national standards may have deadline dates, as
do the European regional standards (ENs).

There is a proposal under consideration in IEC to include in IEC
standards a recommendation to National Committees NOT to adopt for
regulatory purposes a new IEC edition or amendment without a transition
period (as ENs have), allowing industry time to achieve compliance with
the new requirements. But this may not be adopted and in any case is not
likely to be adopted soon.
