APREL Laboratories is an established engineering laboratory in Ottawa, Canada, and a leader in the science of experimental RF exposure dosimetry and in research and development of measurement standards for accessibility of wireless communications.
The company has an immediate opening in its compliance laboratory for a technologist/engineer with experience in EMI/EMC and wireless device testing (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, WLAN, etc.) . Candidate must be familiar with North American and European standards; knowledge of Asian and other standards is an asset. Experience with both measurements and calculations/modeling is desirable. SAR, acoustics, telecom, and/or safety experience a plus. Knowledge of instrumentation and automated test software and processes is required. RF and analog design experience is desirable. Candidate must have at least 3 years hands on experience testing to the standards listed above, together with BS/MS degree in physics or engineering for engineer position; 3-year college/associate degree for technician/technologist position. NARTE certification is a plus. Training is available. Strong written and oral English communication skills, including proven ability to write reports are required. Candidate must be a self-starter, able to manage time and deliver within deadlines. Candidate will be expected to effectively interface with colleagues, clients and regulatory agencies.
