Brian,

Thank you for the update. We'll keep looking at the OJ for the updated
list of harmonized standards for the EMC Directive to see when we can
start using EN 55022:2005.

Ghery and everyone

The recent CENELEC Technical Board meeting ratified EN 55022:2005, and
the
date of withdrawal of the 1998 edition and amendments will be 1 October
2008.

The amendment that was ratified with it was the measurement uncertainty
statement - which aligns the EN with the unamended 5th edition of CISPR
22
(except for the agreed common modifications, as with the 1998 edition).
That amendment will be merged into the 2005 edition before publication.
I'm
not sure when the next list of EMC standards will be published in the
OJ.

The above 1 GHz amendment (A1 to 5th edition CISPR 22) has not yet been
subjected to CENELEC vote. Parallel voting was not possible because the
EN
had not yet been approved when A1 was circulated. The amendment to the
EN
will be circulated for vote this autumn.

Best wishes

Brian Jones

Rumor (I stress, rumor) has it that we should see both EN 55022:2005 and
Amendment A1:2005 to EN 55022:2005 show up in the OJ in November. We'll
see what the date of withdrawal is then.

Ghery
Do you know if there a timetable for publishing this in the European OJ
as
an ammendment to EN55022?
