Chris, For Japan, an ac/dc adapter is regulated under the Category A listings - ie you need the <PSE> Mark given by an ACAB. TUV Rheinland is an ACAB. Our lead time for such an approval is 10 days and there is no need to send a sample to Japan. Please contact me at (925) 2499123 Extension 134 for further information. I assume you have a CB Test Report or a TUV Rheinland Test Report. We will also an RFI test report with 100 Vac 50/60 Hz measurements. I have talked some people from the organization that represents us in Japan; and I have been told by them that agencies outside Japan can’t apply the Japanese safety markings…which would mean that we have to submit a sample for testing. I believe that he mentioned “JQA” as the agency? I’m confused. Do I need to contact our representatives in Japan and get some kind of identifying code, number! or information from them? Alternatively, is this “representative” that I need to contact a Japanese safety agency that reviews the CB report and provides us with marking information? This power supply has been tested to EN60950 and its worldwide variants. Any hints here?
