Support includes signal integrity analysis and investigation. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing EMC testing of new satellite television products to ensure they meet all applicable regulatory agency requirements. Activities will include, but are not be limited to, teaming with hardware design engineers to develop innovative EMC and Safety hardware design solutions, teaming with other EMC engineers to broaden the EMC and Safety skill base within the organization, and to develop new approaches to EMC and Safety analysis & verification. In addition, responsibilities will include submission of all products, documents, and reports to the appropriate regulatory organizations. Job Responsibilities: * Responsible for providing advanced circuit & system level EMC and Safety engineering and design support to the hardware design group for satellite television products. * Responsible for supporting and assisting the design team with signal integrity analysis and investigation. * Responsible for overseeing EMC testing of new satellite television products to ensure they meet all applicable regulatory agency requirements such as UL, FCC, and BETS-07 * Responsible for teaming with hardware design engineers to develop innovative EMC and Safety hardware design solutions, teaming with other EMC engineers to broaden the EMC and Safety skill base within the organization, and to develop new approaches to EMC and Safety analysis & verification. * Responsible for submitting all products, documents, and reports to the appropriate regulatory organizations. Education Requirements: * BSEE minimum * Must have formal training in EMC. Experience: * Must have 4+ years experience minimum with EMC and safety testing and compliance. * Must have detailed knowledge and experience with FCC/CCL/UL/NEC regulations, procedures and processes. * Must have experience testing products for FCC/CCL/UL compliance. * Experience with consumer electronics compliance PLUS. * Experience with satellite receiver products a PLUS * Experience with test equipment a PLUS * Experience with Ansoft and Hyperlynx s/w a PLUS * Must be proficient with EMC/RF test equipment * Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills * Must be detailed oriented * Must possess strong organizational and communication skills * Must be skilled at multi-tasking ************************************************************************ ** Best Regards Charles Grasso Senior Compliance Engineer Echostar Communications Corp. I have subscribed and unsubscribed from quite a number of lists, but I have stuck with this one. Debates are conducted professionally and often backed by justifiable authority and real life experiences - with just the right dose of humour, and many are the times I have read an article, thought to myself "Is that really true?"; quickly look up a standard and almost as many times, I have exclaimed "it IS true!!" I have received excellent responses to all queries I have raised, and gone are the days (for me anyway) of tearing out one's hair at test houses for lack of ideas when products misbehave. I have participated in this forum for a number of years (circa 1995) and find it an invaluable resource. Discussions on this forum were instrumental in getting me "over the hump" during the first years of mandatory CE marking. Sometimes, topics ranged well beyond the realm of EMC and Product Safety, partly because many of us wear many different hats when it comes to regulatory compliance issues. Often, breaking news broadcast in this forum turns up in the trade magazines the very next month. Also, there is room for both the experienced and inexperienced; I never see the newcomer ridiculed for their sometimes naive questions. Always there is a desire to help one another and bring a sense of excellence and integrity to this discussion board. Is it too much to say that I am often enriched by my exposure the wide range of experience available on this forum?
