Hi group. I was wandering around Mountain View CA last week (I must get that sat-nav calibrated - I live in Buckinghamshire UK)
I Jest - I was lucky to catch an event at the Computer History Museum "The mouse that roared - PDP-1 celebration event". I got to play 'Space Wars' on a computer that was almost 50 yrs old and was the for-runner of the popular games like 'Space invaders'. I spoke to some of the speakers including Harlan Anderson one of the founders of Digital Equipment Corp. A lot of the static displays from the old computer museum in Boston have found there way over to the CHM and it seems well organised with a regular series of events. Their website is : http://www.computerhistory.org There is a newsletter that has a number of events reported including the DEC event and some video : http://www.computerhistory.org/core/ Eric Monk (Ex Digital - European Product Safety Laboratory) Eric Monk - Regional Officer - 01494 673438 National Association of Professional Inspectors & Testers HQ: 0870 444 1392 - [email protected] www.napit.org.uk - This message is from the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society emc-pstc discussion list.
