Dear Members, Several members have express their frustration regarding document required by their agents in Taiwan for BSMI certification applications. Following is several items that BSMI reviewers expect to see (as of July 2006):
1. BSMI Certificates * Power cord assemblies, * Power supplies 2. IEC Certificates * Power switches, * Apparatus inlets, * Fuses, resistors (across primary & secondary), * X Y capacitors, * Temperature (switches, fuses, breakers), * Relays, * Photo couplers 3. UL Certificates * Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) * Plastic materials For Item 1, power cord assemblies and power supplies are BSMI regulated products. If a BSMI certificate is not available, an applicant (resides outside of Taiwan) is required to provide a CB report and a CB certificate (issued by a recognized laboratory) with technical document such as schematics, block diagram, PCB artworks, etc. An applicant in Taiwan is not allowed to use a CB report/certificate. If a product including components listed under Item 2, an approval based on IEC standard(s) for the components is expected. An approval based on an UL standard(s) is not recognized for the components listed under Item 2. An approval based on an UL standard is accepted for PCB and plastic materials. I hope this helps.
