This is not surprising, because stainless steel is corrosion-resistant all the way through the material. Zincor is not, and it will almost certainly behave very differently under damp heat conditions anywhere that the coating is pierced. With regard to contaminant gases, chlorine, nitrogen oxides and hydrogen sulfide, I would need an e-mail a kilometre long for a full treatment. You need to hire an expert, because the subject is very important. I suppose you want to save money by changing to Zincor. I wonder if you will actually save; using stainless steel you don't have to be concerned about most environmental effects, but with other materials, not just Zincor, you have to consider every factor, and often carry out a lot of testing. -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
