Ghery, everyone
We are trying to “fast track” the listing of EN 55022:2006 in the Official Journal, but I would not wish to speculate on a date at this stage. It depends on the response from the European Commission. Although the vote was positive on A1 to EN 55022:2006 (identical to A1 to CISPR 22 5th edition) ratification, and therefore publication, has been postponed because the supporting CISPR 16/EN 55016 documents are not yet available. Best wishes Brian Brian Jones EMC Consultant and Competent Body signatory _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Pettit, Ghery Sent: 06 October 2006 16:36 To: Gordon,Ian; IEEE EMC & SAFETY PSTC Subject: RE: Test above 1GHz? It’s coming, but be patient. CISPR 22, 5th Edition had limits added in Amendment 1 (1 to 6 GHz). This amendment is still under consideration in CENELEC, so when EN 55022:2006 is listed in the OJ (soon, later, who knows?) you will still only have to test to 1 GHz. Whoever suggested that the new directive has this requirement was mistaken. Ghery S. All Am I correct in assuming that the New EMC Directive does not explicitly require testing above 1GHz? Thus any technical requirements such as frequency ranges are defined solely by the appropriate standards for a product. I ask this as someone from another company suggested the New Directive had this requirement specifically.
