Hi,
is there any special UL product category or standard for products with pass
through outlet?
Let's say it is a powerline device with pass through outlet on another side.
These are the challenges I see to certify this type of product:
1. 60950 section 4.3.6, direct plug-in or torque requirement. How is one will
know what you will plug on another side? If the product weight around 0.3kg
and you put another 0.5kg on top of it or in extension to it, it will
definitely fail 0.25N.m requirement. Please comment if my assumption is
correct.
2. To test an outlet himself. Do you test outlet only or together with the
product? Product
components will probably fail extensive temperature as a result of
overcurrent test on the
outlet.
Does anyone know any products which were UL certified and what was/were the
standard/s they used?
