I am no expert in this field, but as far as I can determine, using
http://www.matweb.com/index.asp?ckck=1, these materials seem to be ceramic
in nature and have very high dielectric strength. On this basis, a
conductive gasket will not work and by comparison with Alocrom 1200, the
properties will be completely different (almost opposite).

If your objective here is to find an alternative to Alocrom 1200 for RoHS
compliance purposes, you might like to consider SurTec 650. We have found
that it compares very favourably.

This is a Chrome 3 based passivation finish that seems to perform just as
well as Alocrom 1200 from a corrosion protection perspective.

Dear Group,

Can any correspondents provide me with information on the electrical
properties of titanium/zirconium phosphate as a surface finish on metal
enclosures? I suspect it may be an insulator. Is this correct?

Further, can I please have any comments you may have on the likely RF
shielding performance of an enclosure coated with titanium/zirconium
phosphate relative to one coated with Alochrome 1200? I particular, I am
interested in knowing whether there is likely to be continuity of the
shielding through a conducting gasket sandwiched between two
titanium/zirconium phosphate coated metal surfaces.
