All, There will be a NPSS / CNEC Product Safety Engineering Society meeting on Wednesday, June 27th, at The Holiday Inn, Boxborough MA. Michael Stolicny, Raytheon System Safety Engineer, will present this month’s topic concerning System Safety and Parallels and Differences with Product Safety. A social networking with light refreshments will begin at 7:00 PM and the technical meeting will start at 7:30 PM. . Mike’s presentation will provide an overview of System Safety and the parallels and differences between product safety and system safety. The discussion will be weighted towards System Safety as the audience will be somewhat familiar with product safety. The differences and similarities between the two disciplines will be noted. The presentation will cover: • Definition of System Safety • A brief history leading to System Safety and a MIL-STD-882 overview • MIL-HDBK-454A with some key parameters • What about NEC? • System Safety processes • ESOH + Hazmats • Q&A Our meeting notices are usually listed in the IEEE NH Section web site under the latest newsletter topic. Michael is currently the System Safety Engineer at Raytheon in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Mike has over 25 years of experience in product safety including fourteen years in semiconductor manufacturing support as an Equipment Engineer. He has more than 14 years as a product safety engineer supporting commercial and consumer products with nearly 2 years as a System Safety Engineer at Raytheon. A technical presentation should be 45 to 60 minutes in duration and be related to product safety. Although the presentation may reference your company and it’s services, the presentation must not be simply company advertising. We would also appreciate any slides or handout materials be made available for posting on the NPSS web site. Releasing presentation materials for posting is desired but not a requirement to make a presentation.
