Per CISPR 22:2006 Annex G (informative):
Settings: worst case, positive or negative video, and size-char/line for the
maximum number of characters/screen.
"... For monitors with graphics capabilities, a pattern consisting of all
scrolling Hs should be displayed. For monitors with text only capability, a
pattern consisting of random text shall be displayed. If neither of the above
applies, use a typical display."
Our lab has tested multi-purpose LCD monitors in analog video, s-video,
PAL/NTSC and VGA modes.
RF emissions depend more on video source than on actual image displayed.
This test plan is justifiable by the screen refresh system that LCD monitors
use.

Hi, Ken.
The only present day standard (that I've seen) that comes right out and says
to use an H pattern is CISPR 22:1997. I don't see the scrolling H as a
specific requirement in EN 55022:1998.
