I am not familiar with IEC 60601. My limited commercial experience since 1989 is that these product family requirements are pointers to more basic standards, such as EN 55014 or EN 55022, the old CISPR emissions requirements, or similar dBuV/m vs. frequency limits. If that is so then the emission limits on medical equipment once again protect broadcast radio reception and do not bear on medical safety. Medical safety would be covered by the immunity requirements levied on the product family.
