This way, you can have multiple distributors The NOM certificate cost doing in Mexico is about US $700 which is less compared to what you will pay in US. However, with TUV Rheinland of North America for example, there is an MOU with Canieti, a Mexican accredited laboratory, and therefore tests (typically the same tests covered by your end product standard) are accepted without having the need to send the samples to Mexico. Typically, the cost is $3200 and the lead time is approx. 10 working days assuming the importer or legal licenseholder is already regsitered by NYCE (electronic equipment) or ANCE (electrical equipment) I have heard from my Compliance friends that many small vendors ship products to Mexico and Argentina without any certificates. If problems occur at the customs, it is resolved with the customs officials without any major expense. Peter: Not worth taking any risks. I however would like to respect and follow the in-country rules/laws of all countries for import. We have a client in Mexico that wants to buy our OEM product, which does not have the NOM Mark. The client states that we can ship our products directly to a buyer ( Them) in Mexico without having the NOM Mark. They state that we would need the NOM Mark if the product was being bought >from a local office or distributor in Mexico and then being sold to them.
