EN 957 is a series of about 10 standards. They have nearly all been listed in the OJ as being suitable for demonstrating compliance with the General Product Safety Directive, 2001/95/EC (Official Journal (C) 171, 22 July 2006).
If I may sidestep a long discourse about the detailed differences between the GPSD and the CE marking directives, take it that the existence of the standards and their listing in the OJ creates a mandate for their use in a very similar fashion to the structure of the CE marking directives.
