Dear Members,

There have been a great discussion of software for EMC automation in the
group. Here comes the question: which software you will choose, in a month,
if you were me? There are many software packages with good reputation. I
list several below for discussion. You may wish to reply offline.

ETL-Lindgren TILE:
Many members use TILE software. The concern I have is the transfer of the
ownership. Last year, I received a quote from Mike. One price covered the
software, integration, and training. Mike had done such a great job to help
labs to integrate test system. He provided additional drivers, if needed,
free of charge. Yesterday, I received a price quote for the TILE. The
software itself is one price. Training is charged on a daily basis. System
integration is not mentioned.

Rohde & Schwarz EMC32:
The big concern for this software is its flexibility. This software only
works with Rohde & Schwarz equipment. If I send out my receiver for
calibration, I cannot hook up my existing HP spectrum analyzers for pre-scan.
System integration is not mentioned.

TDK EMI-LAB:
Members give this software good references. I haven't played with it.

Teseq EMC Compliance 3:
Members give this software good references. I haven't played with it. It's
package includes one day training and integration. Addtional training is
charged on a daily basis.

UL Software:
I am asked to evaluate the UL software. I sent out my inquiry yesterday
through its web site and waited for a reply.

My goal is to have a software fully control emission measurement (for
unintentional radiators) including generating a test report without an
engineer's additional intervention (except changing an antenna from BiLog to
Horn).

Please feel free to have your comments on.

Best regards,
Grace
