Based on ideas from the images at the below URLs, we recently made an
automated hi-cycle connector tester using an old sewing machine (where
eccentric motion was used to compress a spring that was use as a constant
force ref) and a 34970A data logger.

Also, reference the EIA-364-x series for connector test ideas and
requirements.

After the tests are complete, I intend to remove the force reference
spring and use this test platform to 'motivate' members of the
sales/marketing dept...

Dear Experts,
        One of our customer wants us to perform a reliability / durability
test on a connector pair used in the product as specified below.

1. Mate / unmate the connectors with a force of 4 N for 100 times.
2. Mate / unmate the connectors with a force of 6 N for 100 times.
3. Mate / unmate the connectors with a force of 8 N for 100 times.
4. Mate / unmate the connectors with a force of 10 N for 100 times.
   I have contacted 2 labs and they are not able to help here. These 2
labs say that they have provisions to vary the mating / unmating velocity
but not the force.
     I request the forum members to show me a lab that tkae up this
testing.
