The ideal candidate will come from a safety/mission critical engineering environment with approximately fifteen 15 years experience in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety with at least five 5 of those years in management experience. While the reliability and safety aspect of RAMS is critical to our client, the need for a well rounded systems engineering professional is strongly desired. We are seeking people leadership traits related to complex hardware systems and or software systems. Armed with highly refined analytical skills, the incumbent will enforce the application of the company's RAMS methodology with the ultimate goal of ensuring safety and reliability, while reducing costs. The candidate must have the ability to positively influence the entire development cycle of hardware systems, subsystems and software requirements. Will also have in-depth knowledge of modern Safety Analysis (H/W & S/W) processes, methods and tools. The incumbent would bring well-honed leadership skills and be a strong proponent for training and developing over 45 RAMS professionals in order to maintain the professional edge of the department. Organized, self assured, and with the ability to influence, this engineering professional will set the course for technical standards and processes that will have a significant impact on the product line. Detailed Candidate Requirements: -Will possess a theoretical & practical RAMS background with the general engineering savvy to recommend and influence the overall systems delivery. -Adept at managing manpower planning and providing strong people leadership. -In-depth knowledge of modern Safety Analyses (H/W & S/W) processes, methods and tools. -Background in software development and/or analysis would be a distinct asset. -Highly organized with the ability to manage and work within a budget and schedule. -Able to handle a diverse set of issues that come across the incumbent's desk. -Strong communication skills, both written and oral. -Demonstrated ability to "influence" engineering/business decisions where direct line of responsibility does not exist. -Project management skills to help ensure projects are on budget and schedule. -Has shown leadership in RAMS within a particular industry (Involved in the betterment of the profession). -A University Degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
