expansion is challenge indeed when sheets of metal are used. Significant buckling, maybe larger than the Raleigh? criteria. There are some methods for soldering various sheet metals together, just not your everyday sort of thing. I've used half inch and quarter inch wire mesh. uh, the wire was not that size, the mesh was. The mesh was used to provide some flexing without buckling. If you can pull a slight diagonal flex into the mesh, that also helps alleviate the buckling. Get the really nasty caustic solder flux for the galvanized mesh, large lots of solder, and a BIG iron, 500+watts, thermal gloves, face shield, gas mask for the toxic fumes, practice a little, then hire someone to take on the job.
