Jim:

In United States the Federal Law, 29 CFR, Part 1910.399 and OSHA
Regulations states that "equipment is acceptable if it is listed by a
Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL)"

Use of equipment in a work place which is not approved by a NRTL is a
violation of Federal Law.

Subject: Test Equipment NRTL Approval

It is my understanding that OSHA requires an NRTL approval on any
electrical test equipment used in the workplace in the United States.
However, much of the EMC test equipment that I have seen has only a CE
Marking, and no NRTL Marking.

Can someone on this list can offer some insight on this?

Thanks,

Jim Lyons
