Hi Experts,
 
I am looking for regulatory information (Safety and EMC) for the mentioned
(see below) luminaries. I think the best way is to use the "CB Scheme route"
to show compliance for the relevant IEC standards. I hope that it works for
Russia (GOST-mark), Japan (PSE/S-mark), China (CCC-mark), Australia (RCM and
c-tick-mark), South Korea (EK-mark), India (S- or ISI-mark), Brazil (INMETRO)
but...
 
Who has information for the Countries of the Gulf - UAE, Qatar, Oman, Saudi
Arabia, Kuwait and additionally Thailand?
 
I knows that these countries aren´t "CB members". Does these countries accept
nonetheless "CB certficates" or are additional national certifications
required? Have they "mandatory national marks" in  accordance to specific laws
(EMC? safety)?

Product Platform of Luminaries


 

 

Concept:

One design is used for several versions of luminaries, i.e. as many components
as possible are used for different sizes or different mounting alternatives
(refer to illustration). These luminaries have got a lots of light points (LED
or Halogen) which illuminate glas components (fixed to the housings) and
create twinkling effects.

 

 

Voltage: 

All versions of this luminaire are available with wide-range input: 100…240V

 

 

Critical components: 

1.Power Supply LED converter or Halogen electronic converter with 

§         VDE or TÜV approval (220-240 Volts, 50/60 Hz) or

§         UL or CSA approval  (100-127 Volts, 50/60 Hz)

 

2. LEDs: 0,1 – 2 Watts, constant current 700mA or 24 Volts, e.g. Osram
Backlight BL02 or Philips Luxeon Star/ K2 Star

3. Halogen: Bulb off-the-shelf, e.g. Osram Halogen bulb 20W, 12Volts

4. Option: Radio or infrared remote control (Wireless – WiFi, e.g. PDA or
IR: Battery handheld e.g. DALI EASY RMC FS1)

 

 

Description:

Luminaires create sparkling and twinkling effects due to glas components. 

Decorative light/Functional light – but the primary purpose of the
luminaries is to act as decorative light, i.g. most of these pieces are used
in living/dining rooms, hotel lobbies/rooms or shopping centres.

 

 

 

Version A: 

Ceiling mounted / PSU in housing / LED

* Canopy made of metal or plastics

* Power supply unit (PSU) in the housing connected to the mains (100-240 Volts)

* Power supply unit: electronic LED converter (24 Volts constant voltage
converter or 700mA constant current converter)

* Harness from canopy to housing (100-240 Volts)

* Housing (made of metal or plastics) is suspended by stainless steel cable
(maximum length: 3 meters/120 inches)

* Wight of the Housing: depends on size, between 20 and 100 kilograms 
(between 44 lb and 220 lb)

* Illuminant: LEDs (mounted to the housing)

 

 

 

Version B: 

Ceiling mounted / PSU in canopy / LED

* Canopy made of metal or plastics

* Canopy could be recessed in the ceiling

* Power supply unit (PSU) in the canopy connected to the mains (100-240 Volts)

* Power supply unit: electronic LED converter (24 Volts constant voltage
converter or 700mA constant current converter)

* Harness from canopy to housing (24 Volts or 700mA)

* Housing (made of metal or plastics) is suspended by stainless steel cable
(maximum length: 3 meters/120 inches)

* Wight of the Housing: depends on size, between 20 and 100 kilograms

Version C:

* Plug: Connect the plug to a mains socket (100-240 Volts)

* Power supply unit (PSU) in the housing connected to the mains (100-240 Volts)

* Power supply unit: electronic LED converter (24V constant voltage converter
or 700mA constant current converter)

* Housing (made of metal or plastics) 

* Wight of the Housing: depends on size, between 20 and 100 kilograms 
(between 44 lb and 220 lb)

* Illuminant: LED (mounted to the housing)

 

 

 

Version F: 

Table lamp / PSU in housing / LED / portable

* Plug: Connect the plug to a mains socket (100-240 Volts)

* Power supply unit (PSU) in the housing connected to the mains (100-240 Volts)

* Power supply unit: electronic LED converter (24V constant voltage converter
or 700mA constant current converter)

* Housing (made of metal or plastics

* Wight of the Housing: depends on size, max. 20 kilograms  (max. 44 lb)

* Illuminant: LED (mounted to the housing)

 

 

Option (for all Versions): Luminaire could be controlled by radio or infrared
remote control.
