Duties include project leadership, hazard analysis/risk assessment, design guidance, standards interpretation, external resource coordination, product assessment and testing, compliance reporting, and customer technical support. *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: * * Develop and document product safety and regulatory compliance strategies for industrial equipment (EUV Source). * Participate in project planning meetings, develop compliance project support schedules and budgets. * Perform, coordinate, and document Hazard Analyses and Risk Assessment of modules, subsystems, and systems. * Coordinate external evaluations and certifications of products, accessories, subassemblies, and components. * Document and track corrective actions, and participate in resolving safety & compliance issues. * Research and interpret safety, industrial hygiene, EMC, and environmental regulations. * Perform and document electrical and mechanical measurements. Write and assemble Technical Files. * Write, assemble, and maintain files of product safety & regulatory compliance reports. * Other duties as required. * QUALIFICATIONS * * Experience with managing risk while bringing new technology to prototype, pilot, and production stages. * Understanding and experience in safety methodologies (Risk Assessment, Hazard Analysis, FMEA, etc.) * Knowledge of translating risk assessment results into protective features (guards, interlocks, labels, procedures). * Knowledge including the fundamentals of electrical safety, laser safety, and pressurized gas safety. * Basic understanding of European regulatory structure – Directives (Machinery, ATEX, PED, EMC, etc.) * Experience in coordinating and completing NRTL approvals for products and components. * Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 (LOTO, HazCom, etc.) requirements as they apply to industrial equipment. * Familiarity with international regulatory schemes: NRTL certifications, CE Mark, CB Scheme, CCC Mark, etc. * EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * * Minimum education level is a Bachelors degree in a technical subject area. * Minimum professional experience in product safety or regulatory compliance positions is 7 years. - This message is from the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society emc-pstc discussion list.
