OSHA is proposing amendments to the rules for Nationally Recognized Test Laboratories. The proposed program is the Satellite Notification and Acceptance Program (SNAP). This would become the NRTL program's ninth supplemental program. Unlike the first eight authorized under the original 1995 rules, the SNAP does introduce one significant change. Currently, "certification functions" can only be performed at the recognized sites of the approved NRTLs. SNAP would allow NRTLs to have these functions done at unrecognized sites.
