Have received, and immediately refused, from one of our good colleagues a proposal to write a series on data storage / search / extraction / parse / analysis tools for our type of people. Too OT and too much of a code-wonk for this forum. There is no IEEE society or ACM SIG for this.
Is this too specialized? Any interest? Yes I know about groups like the SIGIR and SIGKDD - too much mathematical purity (xkcd.com/435) - looking for a forum that is into something very applied and useful (no pure theory) for working compliance people that just need share ideas about processes and tools used to beat their data into submission.
