Where I test (in the UK), a daily confidence test is mandatory. A comb generator is used and the engineer checks known frequencies for expected levels. It does regularly find issues, loose connections, changed antenna factor tables etc. Only after the check is completed, can I slip my 10 dB attenuator onto the back of the antenna while the engineer goes and gets the tea.
