Dear group, I've been looking at upgrading some of our test cabling to a higher power rating. We occasionally get connector damage with the N-type plugs and adapters that we use. It seems that the next highest power rating for plugs and adapters is either SC (or I guess C-type), and 7/16. It looks like the SC is an American preference and 7/16 is European. However, I'm not sure whether one is technically better than the other. I'm also not sure which type has greater availability of mating parts like directional couplers, bulkhead adapters, interseries connectors, antennas. As far as I can see, it's a on-off choice to go one way or another. The parts in the laboratory will have to all be compatible with whichever choice is made. Any background information and guidance would be very greatly appreciated.
