Barbara,

In reading through this document, this is very interesting.

Would you agree that the alert symbol only applies to 2.4 GHz
devices that operate above 100 mW in the 2400 to 2454 MHz band and implement
mitigation techniques as described in the EN 300 328 V1.7.1 standard?

And does anyone know how much above 100 mW you are allowed to
operate? Or is that yet to be defined in a new version of the standard.

Hi Richard,

There is agreement within the Community that while the 2.4GHz band is still
not completely harmonized across all Member States and thus must still bear
the Alert Sign and information must still be provided to the User in the
Instructions for use, there is no longer a requirement for the Notification
process to be carried out. Please visit this website:
http://www.ero.dk/1EA61DE3-7B19-45F7-9DAD-331E1499D528.W5Doc?frames=no
You will note that 802.11b.g equipment falls under Sub-Class 22 and that
there is an asterisk next to 22. If you scroll all the way down to the
bottom of the page you will find the explanation you are looking for. I
hope that this is helpful.

Best Regards,
Barbara

Subject: EU wireless registration

All,

I have a test lab that is telling me that for an 802.11 b/g device that
they do not need to be registered in the EU member states. The ETSI
reports have been done and the lab has issued a declaration of
conformity. Last I was aware was there had to be registration is each
member state and many of the could be done on line. Can any one confirm
or deny this.

Thanks you for your opinions.
