Hello Peter,

Class 2 wiring is the wiring of the load side of a Class 2 circuit. Article
725.130 (B) covers “Class 2 and Class 3 Wiring Methods”. It references 725.179
which is “Listing and Marking of Class 2, Class 3 and PLTC Cables”. 725.179
states what wire types and ratings are required for a Class 2 circuit.

Subject: Class 2 Wiring

Hello all,

Can anyone point me to where in the NEC book “Class 2 wiring” is defined
please? I have searched the book a few times but I am unable to locate this. I
see they define Class 2 circuit but not wiring. Can anyone help please?

Thanks
Peter
