Reliability Engineer This individual will be a senior member of the design team for next-generation photovoltaic concentrator (CPV) product. CPV products are designed to perform at world-class quality and cost levels, with the goal of competing with traditional forms of energy generation. This position is responsible for reliability planning, monitoring experiments, generating reports, creation of lifetime projections from field data and component level testing, and corrective action consulting. Involvement in failure analysis, use of vendors for testing, and consulting with groups inside and out of company to drive toward product certifications, yield improvement, and cost reductions. Use of software to characterize and project lifetimes of systems and components. This position provides a unique opportunity to develop innovative and break-through products in the exciting and growing market for renewable energy solutions. Responsibilities: · Reliability testing. · Failure Analysis. · Use of reliability software to study degradation rates and lifetime projections. · Interacting with other groups to define corrective actions. · This engineer will be responsible for planning, implementing and analyzing reliability testing. Reliability testing and the associated failure analysis enable corrective actions and design alterations to be made moving products forward through evaluation stages. In addition, there may be site-specific project work, especially in the early stages when test fields are being established. Experience and Qualifications: · BS/MS in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related field · Minimum 3+ years experience in reliability and/or failure analysis. · Experience with accelerated life testing, electrical testing, and materials analysis. · Direct experience with FMEA, design for reliability, and reliability statistics · Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Ability to provide creative and practical solutions · Practical understanding of reliability studies and software · Ability to lead cross-functional teams · Ability to work directly with vendors · Ability to plan, manage and report status of projects · An understanding of the Solar Energy world is a significant plus · Familiarity with IEC and UL certification a plus Thanks in advance!
