Job Title: Product Compliance and Safety Engineer – Contractor
ESI is looking for a highly experienced Product Compliance and Safety Engineer to be part of our new product development. ESI designs and builds state-of-the-art process equipment for semiconductor and electronics manufactures. These tools are designed to meet various global standards and meet or exceed the most stringent safety regulations available. Your job will be to help us increase this focus on product safety. The position will be full time for 6 months. Job Description: • Ensure new product designs comply with national and international product safety, EMC and environmental regulations. • Interpret regulations and provide guidance to the design engineers. (Includes electrical, mechanical, and ideally Laser standards). • Participate in New Product Development activities and Design Reviews, and ensure international regulatory and safety requirements are planned and addressed in a timely manner during development. • Maintain/update CE technical files and product registrations, ensuring product registrations are completed and compliant with international regulatory requirements. • Aid in the selection of compliance critical components, and approve part replacements that impact compliance. • Support RoHS/WEEE product evaluations and compliance. • Conduct pre-screen testing and evaluation (constructional review) of products before they are reviewed by independent test labs. • Ensure ESI products are properly labeled with regard to safety and compliance. · Review end user documentation for safety and compliance standards. Qualifications: • We are seeking an individual with experience in compliance/ regulatory engineering, preferably with electronics or semiconductor process equipment. 5 years of experience required. • Familiarity with EN 60204, EN1050 risk/hazard analysis and EN61010 required. Familiarity with EN60825 and EN 13849-1(2) desirable. • BS EE w/ minimum 5 years design experience preferred. • Laser Safety Officer qualification is desirable. • Experience with CE marking, ANSI and SEMI standards, RoHS/WEEE directive, and general Product safety is essential. Working knowledge of other Global standards desired. • Demonstrated team player with facilitation skills and good communication skills. Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice.
